Easy Ways To Immigrate To Canada As An International Student

Written by Admin

For international students whose expectation is to study in Canada and might want to remain there permanently, there are easy ways to immigrate to Canada as a student. Different pathways for international students and these pathways favor international students who have certain ties to Canada either through ties to a specific province, Canadian work experience, or a Canadian educational credential.

Ways To Immigrate To Canada As A Student

There are different pathways to immigrate to Canada as a student however they each have their requirements and due process during the application. These pathways are guaranteed though;

Canadian Experience Class

Federal Skilled Worker Program

Provincial Nominee Programs

Quebec Immigration Options

Post-Graduation Work Permits

Most of these programs are operated through Express Entry. The international student will have to express an interest to immigrate and create a profile as well to be validated and be given a program to apply through.

Canadian Express Class (CEC)

The Canadian Express Class (CEC) has been one of the most reliant pathways to get immigration in Canada, the Canadian Express Class (CEC) has kept a standard for all that only the most qualified have to be chosen. There are different eligibility requirements with the obvious ones being Language expertise, age, and level of education. However, the most telling of them all and which probably distinguishes itself from other programs is the fact that applicants must prove that they must have at least one full year of Canadian work experience.

Do note that the one year does not involve the work you got during your studies, the one year should start counting after you must have graduated from school. However, when the international students graduate they can qualify for the Post-Graduation Work Permits.

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

Also operated by the express entry immigration system, this program is also a pathway for students but it is a bit easy for international students. Unlike the Canadian Express Class (CEC) which requires one year of Canadian work experience, the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) does not necessarily need it. The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) needs to know if you have working experience in Canada, the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) allows you to use your working experience while studying unlike the Canadian Express Class (CEC).

The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) makes use of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score to pit the applicants against each other and only invite the ones with the highest score to apply for permanent residency.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Scholarships: University of Bradford Awards for Domestic and International Students

Scholarships: Hardin-Simmons University Scholarship Awards for International Student

The provincial nominee program requirements vary because each province has a particular thing they are looking out for. Provinces go ahead to select applicants based on some reasons, it could be the relationship ties between the applicant and the province, maybe through education or the applicant has worked there before applying. All these reasons and more can sway provinces in their favor.

Quebec Immigration Options

The province of Quebec kind of has a different way of operating that is quite different from other provinces, although it is designed that applicants will also have an advantage when applying for permanent residency in Canada.

Quebec has two main streams and they are;

Quebec Experience Program (PEQ);

Quebec Skilled Worker (QSW).

Choose from the above options and apply what you have read through in this post.
